Perched above the bustling Brixham Harbour, Rock Cottage is a beautiful semi-detached home boasting panoramic views over the Marina and town's fishing port. The expansive picture window located in the sitting room, and the terrace outside the kitchen/diner, commands views that are unrivalled in the town. Rock Cottage is just a 2 minute walk to the harbour area that boasts family pubs, restaurants and quaint independent shops. This beautiful cottage sleeps 6 and is pet friendly. The perfect retreat.
This charming cottage is set over four floors, offering plenty of space for your family. When you first walk in you are presented with the sitting room, complete with an expansive picture window overlooking the harbour and far reaching stunning views. You will find plenty of board games and comfy seating to keep you all entertained, as well as a desk and chair facing the views, should you require a working area.
On the lower ground level is a substantial open kitchen that is equipped with a large gas range cooker, integrated dishwasher and a washer dryer, as well as crockery for your cooking requirements. There is a family size Fridge Freezer as well as a Kettle, toaster, microwave and a Nespresso machine. A spacious dining area and table facing french doors lead you directly to a terrace where you can enjoy an early morning coffee while you take in the beautiful Marina views. There is also a small bathroom located on this floor for your convenience.
On the first floor there is a pretty bedroom with a set of full size bunk beds overlooking the harbour. Next door is an attractive double bedroom featuring a comfy king size bed, a chest of drawers and an elegant dresser unit. There is a large family bathroom featuring a bath and a thermostat shower.
On the top floor there is a spacious bedroom with a comfortable double bed and a sofa bed, if required. Velux windows provide views of the harbour and breakwater. You will also find this bedroom benefits from an en-suite, complete with a walk in electric shower cubicle as well as toilet and sink.
The cottage's unique location means that private parking is not available immediately outside the property but there is ample parking in the public roads nearby. Spaces are generally available in both Garlic Rea and Great Rea Road, all within a short walking distance.
Famous for fishing, art and quaint, colourful houses lining the harbour, Brixham is one of the busiest fishing ports in the UK and is home to some of the finest sea food available. The town is also bustling with art and culture and has a great range of art galleries that feature local artists as well as showcasing visiting installations. On the Strand, you’ll even have the opportunity to see local artists at work. Take a leisurely stroll along the Marina to the breakwater where you can watch the world go by from the popular beach cafe or, if you are feeling a bit more adventurous hire a paddle board or jet ski and take in the views from the water.
Venture to the heart of the town, and look out for the stunning replica of Sir Francis Drake’s famous galleon, The Golden Hind, a recreation of Sir Francis Drake’s flagship that visitors can explore. The town also boasts a museum and various boat tours around the coast so you can get a real taste of its maritime heritage. Brixham has long been famed for its links to the sea, and now has an up and coming culinary scene with an increasing number of independent cafés and enticing restaurants offering local, fresh produce, some often landed that very morning. It isn't all fish though, Brixham's eateries are also supplied buy an excellent selection of local butchers, green grocers and farmers; you'll be spoilt for choice!
For walkers, The South West Coast Path will take you as far as your legs will carry you, and entertaining the little ones couldn’t be easier with Paignton Zoo, The Dartmouth Steam Railway and Splashdown @ Quay West all within a short drive.
The cottage is just a 5 minute walk from Brixham's transport hub as well as the ferry hub which offers boat trips to Torquay and Dartmouth. The cottage is also located just a few mins from the famous SW Coastal Path and is just 2 minutes into the town centre.
Rock Cottage welcomes a maximum of two dogs (pet fee applies).
